After being through something painful, being in the body can be challenging. Often, we need to re-learn how to feel sensations in the body. Learning to stay present while sensing a few basic things is a positive therapeutic step. The goal of the felt sense exercise is to develop the ability to be in tune with and describe our bodies sensations. This reference guide includes an explanation of the felt-sense exercise as well as a language guide for supporting clients to apply sensory language to their experience.
