The Art of Assertive Communication
Learning to communicate effectively is an important skill that not all of us learn during our development. Depending on how we grew up we may develop patterns of not advocating for ourselves (passive), or meeting our needs through confrontation (aggressive). In order to build healthy relationships, we must learn to be assertive - that is, to be clear, direct, and respectful in how we communicate. In other words, we must learn to "Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don't say it mean."
This resource includes education tools to learn the differences between the 4 types of communication along with helpful worksheets to start applying these concepts.
